Thaanaa Serndha Koottam (lit. A gang formed by itself), also known as TSK, is an upcoming 2018 Tamil-language heist film written and directed by Vignesh Shivan and produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja.',^[2] which was inspired by the 1987 Opera House heist in Mumbai.^[3] A dubbed Telugu version will simultaneously release under the title Gang.Production began on 1 November 2016.^[4] The film is produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green along with Suriya's 2D Entertainment and music by Anirudh, with whom the director collaborated for Naanum Rowdy Dhaan (2015).^[5][6][7][8] This is the first time that Anirudh is scoring for Suriya.^[9] The first look and second look posters were revealed on 23 July 2017 coinciding with Suriya's birthday.^[10][11]
Although the title suggests about politics as the main plot in the
movie, the director says that this movie is not based on politics but is
set in the backdrops of 1987.^[12] The final schedule of shooting took place in Pondicherry and the entire shooting was finished on November 28 2017.^[13]
